Retina iPad mini launch imminent as production kicks into high gr

BGRnoted in June that a low-resolution next-eration iPad mini launch was beyond unlikely, and now analysts are indeed singing a different tune. The latest news comes from IHS iSuppli, which said on Wednesday night that second-eration iPad mini production has now ramped up ahd of the tablet’s upcoming launch.”Based [on what] we are seeing in the pipeline… the volumes are similar to the iPad mini that we saw in Q4 of last yr,” IHS analyst Vinita JakhanwaltoldCNET. He also noted that the new tablet will fture a2,048 x 1,536-pixel display, matching the resolution of the Retina display on ’s full-size iPad. The Retina iPad mini is expected to be unveiled at a press conference in October alongsid completely redesigned full-size iPad.
